Betfred have cut Giles Cross into 20/1 (from 33/1) for the John Smith’s Grand National following victory in the Grand National Trial.
Giles Cross travelled well and even looked to have plenty left in the tank when heading home under jockey Denis O’Regan.
Neptune Collonges threatened at the final fence under a big weight but the winner asserted superiority in the run-in. Neptune Collonges has also been cut to 20/1 from 33’s.
“Giles Cross cruised through the Haydock mud and ran a fine Aintree trial this weekend though he will most likely encounter completely different conditions come the big race in April,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Binocular has been cut to 7/1 (from 10/1) by Betfred for the Stan James Champion Hurdle following a facile victory in the Bathwick Tyres Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton this afternoon. He has also been cut to 7/2 (from 5/1) in the market without current 8/11 favourite Hurricane Fly.
