Live on Skysports 1: Mon 19.45: Southampton are evens (Boylesports) to beat Leicester in the Championship but could leak a goal in victory.
Leicester head to Southampton with a little more confidence after smashing four goals past Nottingham Forest in a midweek FA Cup replay but that victory was only the Foxes second in nine league and cup outings and their inconsistency doesn’t bode well ahead of the trip to St Mary’s.
Saints have won eleven of their 13 home matches and the performances of Nigel Adkins’ men on their own patch have been the cornerstone of their success so far this term. Admittedly, Southampton’s only defeat on home soil came in their last match at St Mary’s but lightning isn’t likely to strike twice and the hosts have to be considered cracking value at evens with Boylesports given the statistics.
Also tempting at evens is Paddy Power’s offer for the game’s last goal to arrive after the 72nd minute, a wager that would have been successful in Saints’ last seven while William Hill chalk 13/10 against the second half generating at least two goals.
However, the best bet is arguably Coral’s 3/1 for Southampton to triumph without keeping a clean sheet. Shutouts have proven elusive for Saints of late, last week’s against goal-shy Nottingham Forest aside and Leicester have the firepower to at least find the net even if they look set to ultimately suffer a defeat.
