Blackpool, Birmingham and West Ham are set to register home wins in the Championship and they combine in a treble at 19/5 (William Hill).
Blackpool are just three points adrift of the play-off places thanks largely to their form at Bloomfield Road, where they have won seven and lost just two of their dozen matches on their own patch. The Seasiders also have the Championship’s second best home defensive record but those aren’t the only reasons Ian Holloway’s men are one of the bets of the week as they entertain Crystal Palace.
Admittedly, the Eagles have picked up a more than respectable six wins on the road this term but Dougie Freedman’s men will definitely have next week’s Carling Cup semi-final second leg at the forefront of their minds and a solid team like Blackpool simply have to be fancied at 4/5 with Skybet to capitalise on Palace’s potential lack of focus.
The only team in the division to have conceded fewer home goals than the Seasiders is Birmingham and Chris Hughton’s play-off chasers, who have yet to lose at St Andrews in the league, also look set to pick up a maximum haul, at Watford’s expense, a result available at 8/11 with Betfred.
Completing a trio of home bankers in the second tier are West Ham. Sam Allardyce’s troops have carded back-to-back league victories and at 8/13 (William Hill), they’re hard to oppose as they entertain a struggling Nottingham Forest side that has failed to find the net in ten out of the last eleven league and cup games.
