The BDO version of the Darts World Championship gets under way on Saturday with Martin Adams and Scott Waites vying for favouritism. Defending champion ‘Wolfie’ is a 4/1 chance at Blue Square and Waites is also available at 4/1, this time with William Hill.
Bet365 quote Dean Winstanley at 11/2 and he has to be considered a threat while Ted Hankey (14/1, ) and Daryl Fitton (25/1, Boylesports) are lively each-way shouts but it could be Waites’ year. The 34-year-old from Bradford enjoyed an impressive 2011, capturing the World Masters, the BDO British Open and the WDF World Cup so he’ll be raring to go at Lakeside.
