Live on SS1: Thu 06.30: Angus Loughran previews the inaugral Thailand Champs and also the Australian Masters.
Lee Westwood heads the market at 5/1 with Ladbrokes for this week’s Thailand Open and there is no bigger fan of Lees than me but after a great win in Sun City and last week in Dubai he may be just a little jaded and the bookies are not giving any early Christmas presents in the price.
Tommy Fleetwood at 66/1 (Sportingbet) looks over the odds to me while I also like Prayad Marksaeng – a 45 year-old multiple winner in Asia who was in the top 20 in recent Hong Kong Open – he should go well at 50/1 (Betfred).
Luke Donald is 9/2 at to win the Australian Masters and will have plenty of supporters but Robert Allenby at 12/1 (Paddy Power) and Geoff Ogilvy at 10/1 (Totesport) are my two against the field.
It has been a momentous year for European Golf with Luke Donald’s historic money list double and also The Open double of Rory McLlroy in Washington and Darren Clarke at Sandwich both outstanding. 2012 has plenty for Golf fans to look forward to!
Good luck
Angus Loughran
