Live on ESPN: Sat 12.30: In the SPL, Rangers can win at Hibs to nil, 13/10 at Paddy Power, while St Mirren are 5/2 at Aberdeen.
Hibs get the weekend’s SPL action under way at Easter Road where they host Rangers, a side that has suffered only a single away defeat this term. Given that the Edinburgh club have managed only one home win, it’s no surprise to see Stan James install them as their 7/1 underdogs, while Rangers are priced at 1/2 (bet365) to register their eighth away win of the campaign.
Rangers are 13/10 couretsy of Paddy Power to win without reply.
St Mirren may have beaten Aberdeen in four of their last five league encounters, yet it’s Craig Brown’s charges who kick off as 13/10 favourites with Paddy Power to register a their first victory since 15th October.
The Saints, who suffered a 2-1 reverse against Inverness last weekend, are 5/2 with to improve their abysmal away record – only Aberdeen’s recent away form is worse. Meanwhile Totesport price the stalemate at 23/10 and Betdaq offer 10.0 (9/1) against a 2-0 Aberdeen success – the score when they last beat St Mirren at Pittodrie in January.
Dundee United scored a 3-1 win over Inverness when the sides met in September, their third consecutive league victory against Thistle, hence they kick off as Partybets’ 6/4 favourites to make it four from four tomorrow. Indeed, Inverness have lost three of their last four home duels against United, drawing the other, a record which explains their 8/5 odds (Ladbrokes) to bring than run to an end with a victory.
However, the Terrors arrive in the Highlands having scored only twice in their last four outings, a statistic which adds appeal to Skybet’s 5/2 for Inverness to retain a clean sheet, while Boylesports’ 7/2 for them to win and prevent St Mirren from scoring cannot be discounted.
Following their win at Tynecastle last week, St Johnstone welcome Motherwell to McDiarmid Park, a team they hammered 3-0 as recently as September. Home advantage means that the Saints are 8/5 with Ladbrokes to register a fourth home success and a tasty-looking 9/1 at Totesport to win 2-1.
Only Rangers have collected more points away from home than Motherwell, priced at 15/8 (Skybet) to win. They’ve managed six victories away from Fir Park this term and, like St Johnstone, boast eight clean sheets in total. Accordingly, Betfred offer 15/2 against the sides cancelling each other out and the match ending goalless.
Elsewhere, Celtic (1/3, Paddy Power) should have little difficulty overhauling Hearts at Parkhead. Celtic have won their last four home matches against Hearts, conceding just one goal in the process.
Finally, Dunfermline, winless at home, entertain Kilmarnock, who have won only once away. Sportingbet’s 12/5, chalked against the draw, looks one of the day’s most attractive wagers.
