SS1, 2 & ESPN: Sat 12.45 & 17.30, Sun 16.00: United could be set for a 1-1 draw at Villa (6/1, Skybet) and Spurs can thrash Bolton.
Manchester United are Paddy Power’s 8/11 favourites away at Aston Villa and the current champions will be keen to get the three points they felt they deserved against Newcastle.
Annoyingly for United fans, they haven’t seen their team hit the back of the net twice in one game in the Premier League for two months and Ladbrokes go 11/10 that Ferguson’s troops score under two goals while bet365 chalk up 2/1 for The Red Devils to score exactly one for the seventh straight game.
That will be encouraging for Alex McLeish as his side haven’t been short of a goal at home; quote a very interesting 15/8 that Aston Villa can open the scoring and it’s 13/2 via Betfred that Darren Bent is the man to score it.
However, United are never beaten until the final whistle so a comeback is always likely and the draw is the expected outcome, 11/4 with Stan James, while a 1-1 result should be sided with at 6/1, courtesy of Skybet. Ashley Young, who scored against United in this fixture last season, is 9.0 (8/1) with Betdaq to net the last goal of the game and break Villa hearts.
Following two strong results, there is reason for optimism for Kenny Dalglish’s Liverpool as they head to Fulham as Boylesports’ 23/20 favourites for a maximum haul.
Liverpool’s away form has seen them scoop three consecutive wins in the league and in each of those games The Reds have managed two goals. Sportingbet are 13/10 for Liverpool to notch at least twice against Fulham while it’s 9/1 at Paddy Power that they can score exactly two without a reply.
Everton have secured back-to-back wins in the Premier League and Partybets make them 4/5 favourites against Stoke.
David Moyes’ team can be very tough to stop when on a run and Ladbrokes reckon 11/8 that Everton go into the break with the lead while Totesport quote 13/8 that Everton can double up that half-time lead with a full-time victory.
Up at St James’ Park, Newcastle face Chelsea as 10/3 outsiders (). Chelsea, evens with Boylesports, will make life tough for The Magpies but Alan Pardew can work his magic again and his team can take another creditable draw, 5/2 with Stan James.
Tottenham’s great form sees them as 1/3 favourites (Betfred) against a struggling Bolton side that are 9/2 with bet365 even to snatch a point but the North Londoners should swat them aside with ease, Betdaq quoting 3.5 (5/2) for a win by three goals or more. Man City (1/5, Sportingbet) should similarly see to Norwich without many problems but considering the previous four visitors to the Etihad have scored, Totesport’s 10/11 on both teams to score is not without merit.
Elsewhere, Swansea are 9/4 with Skybet to run rings around Blackburn and win at Ewood Park while QPR and West Brom are 12/5 (Partybets) to split the points in what could be a decent game in London.
Finally, Arsenal should secure victory away to Wigan at 4/7 (Paddy Power), Robin van Persie 11/4 with Boylesports to net at least two, and on Sunday Wolves can take a much needed point at home to Sunderland, 12/5 with Ladbrokes.
