In the SPL, Dunfermline and Aberdeen are 12/5 (Totesport) to play out a draw while Celtic are 6/1 with Ladbrokes to beat St Mirren 2-0.
Aberdeen, winless away from Pittodrie, travel to face a Dunfermline side yet to register a home victory for an encounter from which either side believes it can secure three points tomorrow.
The Dons hammered the Pars 4-0 at the end of September, so extending a remarkable record: Aberdeen have not conceded a goal against Dunfermline in any of their last seven league meetings, a run which extends back to 2006.
Not surprisingly then, Partybets maintain that Aberdeen will have enough to win tomorrow, pricing them at 6/4 to collect maximum points. However, Totesport’s (12/5) for the match to conclude with honours even cannot be discounted.
Meanwhile, Inverness last recorded victory at Tynecastle in December 2007 when they won 3-2 and this record, coupled with their perilous league position, ensures they start as 15/4 underdogs (bet365) to overhaul Hearts on Saturday.
Yet the draw, priced at 13/5 with Betfred, is worthy of consideration as the pair’s last three league meetings have each ended 1-1 and there’s every likelihood that Saturday’s meeting will be similarly tight. This adds appeal to the game’s handicap market where Inverness are even money with Sportingbet to win when handed the benefit of a one goal start.
St Johnstone lost 3-2 at Easter Road in September, their first defeat in eight meetings against Hibs, although of the last six matches involving the pair, three have been drawn. Under the circumstances, Paddy Power’s 9/1 price for it to finish goalless offers decent value.
Celtic have won their last five league fixtures against St Mirren without conceding a goal, hence the sustained support for Boylesports’ 7/10 for them to win without conceding on Saturday. Ladbrokes chalk 6/1 against a 2-0 home victory.
Motherwell and Dundee United met seven times last season with ‘Well winning three of their four league encounters. They’ve already triumphed over United this term, winning 3-1 in October, and their 6/5 odds () to secure another maximum haul has been heavily backed. Betdaq post 7.0 (6/1) against a 1-0 home win, another prices that has received significant support.
Finally, Rangers have won all seven of their most recent league duels against Kilmarnock, scoring 19 goals in the process, a record which accounts for the appeal of Stan James’s 4/6 odds about Sunday’s meeting yielding more than 2.5 goals. The league leaders are Skybet’s 8/15 favourites to win and 11/1 with to record a 3-1 victory.
