Live on Skysports 1: Sun 13.30 & 16.00: It’s 21/2 (Ladbrokes) for the Premiership matches at Liverpool and Swansea to finish all square.
Hot on the heels of their stunning Stamford Bridge success, Liverpool face another Sunday blockbuster as they entertain unbeaten Manchester City but despite the triumph over Chelsea, Kenny Dalglish’s men are outsiders at 2/1 with Stan James while the Premiership pacesetters are narrowly favoured by Paddy Power at odds of 6/4.
Nevertheless, the Reds’ last three Anfield assignments have finished all square, so another draw at 12/5 (Skybet) could well attract cash in this one, alongside Partybets’ 11/2 for it to end one –apiece, although home fans will be on a high following Glen Johnson’s late winner on Sunday and many will be confident that in front of a vociferous Kop, Liverpool can become the first team to overcome Roberto Mancini’s troops.
That’s not entirely out of the question for Dalglish’s charges, who are 7/2 with Boylesports to oblige by a one-goal margin and at the very least they’re worth an interest at 4/7 in Paddy Power’s handicaps, where they start a goal in front.
Elsewhere, it could take a while for the first goal to arrive, offering 10/11 for the deadlock to be broken after the 27th minute while Craig Bellamy, who supplied the pass for Maxi Rodriguez’s opener against Chelsea, is rated at 15/2 by Sportingbet to come back to haunt his former club by grabbing that first goal.
Aston Villa couldn’t halt the momentum of in-form Tottenham on Monday evening, going down 2-0 at White Hart Lane, but Alex McLeish’s side will feel they have a better chance of picking up their first away win of the season, as they head to Swansea.
Bookmakers however, lean towards the Swans, who are pretty solid on their own patch, Boylesports rating the hosts at 13/10 and Stan James posting 23/10 against a Villa triumph.
Nevertheless, as Eck’s troops have drawn four of their six travelling assignments, a case can be made for a stalemate at the Liberty Stadium, where Ladbrokes offer odds of 5/2 for the spoils to be shared and Betfred chalk up a 1-1 scoreline at 11/2.
