Hot on the heels of last weekend’s stunning victory at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool face another Sunday afternoon blockbuster as they entertain unbeaten Premiership pacesetters Manchester City but despite the triumph over Chelsea, Kenny Dalglish’s men are outsiders at 2/1 with Boylesports while the league leaders are narrowly favoured by Stan James at odds of 7/5.
Nevertheless, the Reds’ last three Anfield assignments have finished all square, so another draw at 12/5 (bet365) could well attract cash in this one, alongside Totesport’s 11/2 for it to end one –apiece and Sportingbet’s offer of 9/2 for the clash to be level at the end of each half.
Of course home fans will be on a high following Glen Johnson’s late winner on Sunday and many will be confident that Liverpool, in front of a vociferous Kop, can become the first team to overcome Roberto Mancini’s troops.

Newcastle finally relinquished their unbeaten record at Manchester City and they’re set to suffer another defeat in the same city, Boylesports pricing them at 1/3 to emerge empty-handed at Old Trafford and Skybet offering 6/5 for a Manchester United victory ‘to nil’. Also in line for a home win are stuttering Chelsea, who are 2/9 (Stan James) to put back-to-back Stamford Bridge losses behind them by beating Wolves while Tottenham are 21/20 with to overcome West Brom at the Hawthorns.
In Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, Betfred rate Blackburn at 5/2 to hold Stoke to a draw at the Britannia Stadium, Norwich’s clash with QPR could also be inconclusive, a result bet365 quote at 12/5 and Ladbrokes offer 23/10 for Bolton and Everton to share the spoils at the Reebok Stadium.
Sunderland meanwhile, are 1.73 (8/11) courtesy of Betdaq to get the better of manager Steve Bruce’s former club Wigan and on Sunday, a solid-looking Swansea, who gave a good account of themselves against Manchester United, are worth a modest interest at 7/5 with Paddy Power as they face Aston Villa.
