Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Oscars Well at Punchestown and Knight Pass at Exeter. Compare odds.
Though he disappointed in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham when last seen in March Knight Pass (3:00) remains an exciting prospect for the novice hurdle ranks this season and can get off to the best possible start at Exeter on Sunday.
Warren Greatrex’s five-year-old created a big impression when winning his first two starts last season, at Sandown in November and Southwell in January, and he can return to winning ways here under Noel Fehily, who was on board for his racecourse debut.
Over in Ireland Oscars Well (2:10) is given the nod in a tricky four-runner renewal of the Grade 1 Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown.
Jessie Harrington’s six-year-old appeared to blow up on his seasonal return at Down Royal recently and should strip a lot fitter this afternoon. In the race-fit Pittoni and the very tough Thousand Stars, he faces a couple of serious opponents, but the selection has aspirations of becoming a genuine Champion Hurdle contender and can stamp his class on the race.
Sunday’s selections:
2:10 Punchestown: Oscars Well (2/1 Bet365, VC, Hills)
3:00 Exeter : Knight Pass (11/10 Sportingbet)
