Wigan are 4/11 with William Hill to be relegated after they lost at Wolves while Roberto Martinez is 11/4 to be the next manager out of a job.
Wigan’s 3-1 defeat to Wolves was their eighth in a row in the Premiership but boss Roberto Martinez is still only third favourite with William Hill, at 11/4 to be the next top flight boss to leave his post. Hills make the Latics manager 6/4 to still be in the job on the first day of next season while the Leeds firm go 1/2 about Martinez parting company with the club before that.
Spokesman Graham Sharpe said: ‘Given the loyalty Martinez showed when refusing to go to Villa, it is almost impossible to imagine old-school Wigan supremo Dave Whelan sacking Martinez. That makes it tough to price him up in the sack race – although it is not out of the question that his own pride would cause him to walk away.’
The loss at Molineux meanwhile, leaves Wigan rooted to the foot of the table and Hills have subsequently cut the Latics to 4/11 for the drop, nudging them out to 2/1 to stay up.
