Kelso’s valuable Morebattle Hurdle looks really competitive but Tellherthename (3:30) is worthy of each-way support, with the drying conditions looking to come right for him. Off since late-November, he remains unexposed and based on his defeat of Lucky Place and his nose defeat at the hands of Jango Baie as a novice, he looks to be well-treated.
On the same card, Leader In The Park (4:39) is fancied to win the concluding novices’ handicap chase. Ben Pauling’s charge is on an upward curve and would have won more comfortably last time, had he been given a less aggressive ride.
Down at Newbury, There Runs Mary (4:50) can win the bumper for Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen. She meets the runner-up on 4lbs worse terms but travelled much the best on debut at Wincanton and looked to be a nice prospect going forward.
