Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday. Final Demand in the 1.15 at Leopardstown and The Kalooki Kid 2.50 at Musselburgh. | Free Bets |
Having impressed with how he travelled en route to winning at Limerick, Final Demand (1:15) is fancied to win the opening race of this year’s Dublin Racing Festival. Willie Mullins holds a strong hand here and others have Graded form already in the book, but Paul Townend has opted to ride this six-year-old and it isn’t hard to see why.
It looks sure to be a big day for Mullins, who should win the Irish Arkle with Majborough and Galopin des Champs will take some stopping in the Irish Gold Cup, although the pair are priced up accordingly.
Up at Musselburgh, The Kalooki Kid (2:50) ought to relish conditions, as he likes a flat track and decent ground. Nicky Richards’ smooth-travelling grey gives away plenty of experience here as he goes up in class, but seems to be much improved for going chasing and if his jumping holds up, he looks to hold sound claims.
Saturday’s selections:
1:15 Leopardstown – Final Demand; 5/4 Boylesports
2:50 Musselburgh – The Kalooki Kid; 11/4 William Hill
