Paul Ferguson has three selections for us on Saturday; Leader In The Park in the 1.30, Tripoli Flyer 2.35 and Secret Squirrel 3.15 all at Ascot. | Free Bets |
Leader In The Park (1:30) ran well here over hurdles last November and can make a winning start over fences at Ascot on Saturday. Ben Pauling’s six-year-old won a Doncaster maiden in February and possesses the size and scope to improve considerably for going chasing.
Later on the same card, Tripoli Flyer (2:35) should be very hard to beat in the novices’ hurdle, with his second in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree having been well advertised by Valgrand last week. Fergal O’Brien’s five-year-old looks full of speed so should relish prevailing conditions and looks to be an exciting recruit.
And, in the competitive handicap hurdle, I want to be with Secret Squirrel (3:15) who should be available at an each-way price for Hughie Morrison and David Bass. He has won first time out in each of his two seasons and ended last season with a solid fifth in a very competitive novices’ handicap at Sandown. Morrison does well with his limited number of jumpers and this five-year-old looks capable of winning a nice prize this winter.
