Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Economics in the 3.25 and Nurburgring 4.35 both at Leopardstown. | Free Bets |
Having looked impressive in winning the Dante at York and the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano at Deauville, Economics (3:25) gets the chance to shine at the highest level on Saturday and he is fancied to lower the colours of Auguste Rodin in the Irish Champion Stakes. William Haggas’ chestnut enjoys an ease in the ground and might just have the superior turn of foot than his main market rival. Still on the up, he looks a potential top-notch performer.
Later on the card, the 1m5f premier handicap is extremely competitive but a chance is taken on Galway Hurdle winner Nurburgring (4:35). Up to a mark of 150 over hurdles following that big summer success, yet races here off just 89 and he hasn’t run over this sort of trip on the Flat since Royal Ascot last year. Versatile in terms of ground, he looks capable of running a big race for Joseph O’Brien and can be backed each-way.
Saturday’s selections:
3:25 Leopardstown – Economics; 2/1 William Hill
4:35 Leopardstown – Nurburgring; 7/1 Boylesports
