Premier League 2024/25 Antepost

Chris Hutcheon pinpoints the antepost money making opportunities as the Premier League return gets closer.. Live scores

Premier League Outright Betting:

Manchester City have won the past four Premier League titles, although Betfred are prepared to take them on this season. The champions have been chalked up at 6/4 by this bookmaker who should expect to take plenty of bets at this price, with some firms going a lot closer to even money.

Pep Guardiola hasn’t signed anyone of note this summer, although he retains the services of Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and Josko Gvardiol, with the squad having the knowhow when it comes to securing domestic silverware, although they have had Arsenal breathing down their neck in the past two seasons.

Perhaps the Gunners will cast off their bridesmaid’s tag this time around, with Mikel Arteta’s side no bigger than 15/8 with bet365 to claim top spot at the end of the campaign. They’re likely to be in the conversation once again, with Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice likely to propel the team to great heights.

Defensively, the London side are strong, with William Saliba and Gabriel operating in front of David Raya, although some punters might prefer the chances of Liverpool at a bigger price. Arne Slot is now in charge of the Reds and Ladbrokes offer 7/1 that the Dutchman hits the ground running at Anfield by claiming the title.

It’s clear that Liverpool will be playing a different style of football under Slot, with Mohamed Salah continuing to be the talisman of a team who also includes Alexis Mac Allister in the engine room and perhaps we’ll see Harvey Elliott coming to the fore in the number ten role.

After this, there’s a big jump in the odds to Chelsea who are trading at 18/1 with William Hill to win the Premier League title. It would be quite a feat for Enzo Maresca considering how far off the pace the Blues finished last season, with the former Leicester boss hoping to produce a winning team from the off.

Cole Palmer was a revelation last season and could be joined on the goal front by the fit again Christian Nkunku, while Nicolas Jackson improved as the season wore on. However, there are question marks over the defence despite the protection afforded to them by Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Manchester United are a 22/1 chance with Boylesports, with Erik ten Hag hoping that his team are more consistent this time around. The Dutchman has won silverware in each of his two seasons at Old Trafford, with Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho likely to play starring roles for the Red Devils.

More will be expected from Marcus Rashford and there’s also the prospect of Rasmus Hojlund getting more goals, although perhaps the aim will be to secure a top four place this season rather than challenge for the title.

Tottenham and Newcastle come next in the betting, with Spurs available at 33/1 with bet365 and they will need to improve defensively under Ange Postecoglou. Eddie Howe’s side are a 40/1 chance with Ladbrokes and it would be a major shock if they were in the title running.

Premier League Top Scorer Betting:

Erling Haaland has won the past two Premier League Golden Boots and it’s little surprise to find the Manchester City forward trading as favourite to be top scorer for the 2024/25 campaign. Coral make the Norwegian an 8/11 chance to pilfer the most goals although he wasn’t too far ahead of the chasing pack last time around.

Haaland notched twenty-seven goals after previously scoring thirty-six, with some punters looking elsewhere for each-way value on this market. After scoring twenty-one times for Newcastle last season, we’re surprised that Alexander Isak is available at 16/1 with Betfred and perhaps this is the bet to have.

The Swede is the number one striker at St James’ Park these days and he’s a dangerous operator, with Isak preferred over Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool man is a 10/1 chance with bet365 although it could be that the Egyptian is operating in a wide position and we should note that he only managed to find the net eighteen times last term.

Salah clearly has the potential to be explosive although there were only nineteen goals scored in the previous campaign and there could be better returns from backing Ollie Watkins who has the potential to kick on at Aston Villa. The former Brentford man looks a touch of value at 16/1 with Coral.

Watkins didn’t get too much of a chance playing for England at the Euros although he’s been improving season-on-season and could easily run into a place. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer is trading at 20/1 with William Hill and it will be interesting to see whether the Chelsea man is able to replicate his amazing scoring form of last season.

Palmer exploded on to the scene last term to notch twenty-two times and it will be interesting to see whether he can continue to blaze a trail, although a player at a bigger price that catches our eye is Heung-Min Son. The South Korean is a 33/1 chance with bet365 and he has excellent pedigree along with some pre-season goals.

Arsenal look set to operate with Kai Havertz in the centre forward position when the season starts and Ladbrokes offer 33/1 that the German is able to top the charts for a title-chasing side, although team-mate Bukayo Saka is often a source of goals and the same firm offer 40/1 that he lands the spoils.
