World Cup group betting

Many betting customers like to place a World Cup group accumulator and that’s especially due to the fact that several of the favourites are trading at a short price. For example, Netherlands are a warm order to win Group A and Coral have betting odds of 1/2 that Louis van Gaal’s side claim top spot.

However, Senegal were handed a boost after it emerged that Sadio Mane would be fit to represent his country and the African side are trading at 9/2 with BetVictor to usurp their European rivals and also finish ahead of hosts Qatar and South American side Ecuador.

England are strong favourites to win Group B and the Three Lions are no bigger than 4/11 with William Hill to finish top of a section that also includes the United States, Wales and Iran. It will be interesting to see whether the Welsh can make the last sixteen and BetVictor have 5/4 that they go through.

We also have a strong favourite in Group C, with William Hill once again chalking the best price when it comes to their 4/9 about Argentina. It will be interesting to see whether it’s Mexico or Poland who are also able to make the last sixteen. The former are 10/11 with Betfred and the Poles are 10/11 with Boylesports to qualify.

France look uncertain favourites when they line up in Group D, with Les Bleus priced at 4/9 with Paddy Power to top a section that also includes a strong Denmark side who beat them twice in the Nations League this year. The Danes look a great bet at 3/1 to win the section and it could be worth backing them in a straight forecast with the French.

Group E looks the most fiendish to predict by virtue of the fact that Spain and Germany are both included. La Roja are an even money chance with BetVictor to top the section and earn a winnable last sixteen clash in the process, although the Germans are an 11/10 poke with Boylesports to edge the group.

We might find that Group F is the most open of the 2022 World Cup and all four teams will feel that they have a chance of going through. Belgium are 8/13 with Coral to come through as winners but they have injury problems and Croatia make far more appeal at 5/2 with Betfred considering their recent Nations League performances.

William Hill are the bravest with their quote about Brazil winning Group G, with this bookmaker offering 4/9 about the South American side coming through as section toppers. However, Switzerland could be difficult opponents and Ladbrokes offer 5/1 that the European side top the group, while Serbia are a 6/1 poke with BetVictor.

Portugal are often unpredictable when it comes to major tournaments although they’re odds on with the bookies when it comes to winning Group H. BetVictor offer 8/11 about a win for Fernando Santos’ side, while Uruguay are a 2/1 poke with Boylesports to come through and make a statement of intent.
