World Cup Golden Boot Bets

Many betting customers like to bet on the World Cup Golden Boot betting market, with punters aiming to predict which player will score the most goals during the tournament. There is the option to place win or each-way bets on this market and some people like to back more than one selection in order to try and land a winner.

Harry Kane is the bookmaker’s favourite and the England captain is trading at 8/1 with BetVictor on this market. The striker will lead the line for the Three Lions against Iran, Wales and United States, with the Tottenham forward having claimed this award at the 2018 World Cup when finishing top of the standings.

The other player trading at single figure betting odds on the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot market is Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman scored four goals during his team’s 2018 World Cup triumph and could be ready to kick on in Qatar, with bet365 offering 9/1 that the Paris Saint-Germain forward finishes top of the pile.

If France do prove successful at the 2022 World Cup, perhaps it will be Karim Benzema who fires the most goals and the Real Madrid forward is available at 12/1 with Paddy Power. The striker recently landed the Ballon d’Or and has recently returned from injury in time for this tournament, with Didier Deschamps likely to select the player from the start.

There are other Paris Saint-Germain forwards lurking near the top of the outright betting and Neymar is sure to start for Brazil, with Coral offering 12/1 about this player. Alternatively, Lionel Messi will be featuring in his final World Cup and Paddy Power offer 12/1 which looks enticing from an each-way point-of-view.

Another multiple Ballon d’Or winner is Cristiano Ronaldo and bet365 have 16/1 that the Manchester United forward is able to plunder the goals for Portugal. However, Romelu Lukaku could be better value at 25/1 with the same bookmaker and let’s not forget that the Belgian scored four goals at the 2018 World Cup.

However, perhaps Kevin de Bruyne is worth a second look at Paddy Power with 80/1. There are fitness doubts over Romelu Lukaku and it could lead KDB to play in a more advanced role, with the Manchester City midfielder enjoying a typically strong domestic season.

The Netherlands look to have a fairly easy group and perhaps Memphis Depay will be able make hay in Qatar. The Barcelona forward has scored 42 goals in 81 appearances for the Dutch although the odds of 25/1 with Ladbrokes are down to the fact that the forward has barely featured for Barca this term.

Gabriel Jesus is having a fine season for Arsenal and Betfred have 33/1 that the Brazilian forward is able to land a prestigious Golden Boot. The big question is how much game time that the forward will get, with Vinicius Junior chalked up at 33/1 with bet365 and he has scored ten goals for Real Madrid this term.
