Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Wednesday; Getaweapon in the Ludlow 17:35. Compare odds and bet.
Ludlow stages a fascinating mares’ bumper to conclude their card on Wednesday, with several of the runners boasting very nice pedigrees. Brilliant Present is a full-sister to the same connections’ Gold Present; Dorisa Queen hails from the family of Carlitos; Fay ce que Voudras is a full-sister to bumper winner Barbados Blue; Jersey Lady is a half-sister to Irish Grand National winner Burrows Saint; and the list could continue.
However, I’ve been waiting to see Getaweapon (5:35) under Rules for some time now, and she gets the vote on debut for Kim Bailey. The five-year-old, who herself comes from a good family, looked a nice prospect when winning a Point-to-Point bumper for Christopher Barber, and the form has worked out really well since. Tango Charlie (2nd) won a Point next time, before finishing fifth in a Leopardstown bumper for Mags Mullins, whilst Tile Tapper (3rd) finished fourth in a very competitive Exeter bumper on debut for Jimmy Frost, before winning at the same track on New Year’s Day.
Off the track for 564 days, I would imagine that Kim Bailey’s team will have her fairly straight for this return, and she will hopefully be available at an each-way price, given the strength of the opposition. Judging her on pedigree alone, she probably wouldn’t want too much rain.
Wednesday’s selection:
5:35 Ludlow – Getaweapon; 5/1 Betfred
