Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Lord Baddesley in the Fontwell 12:30. Compare odds and bet.
Chris Gordon sends a big team of horses to Fontwell on Friday, including Lord Baddesley (12:30) in the opening Final Furlong Podcast Novices’ Hurdle.
Runner-up (beaten just a neck) in a competitive bumper at Worcester last October, he went on to finish fifth behind Hoi Polloi at Kempton, in another race which I expect to work out reasonably well. The son of Doyen was one of several that day to be unsuited by the lack of a real gallop, and he can improve now he goes hurdling.
On what looks a decent card, the highlight could be the chasing debut of I K Brunel in the Visit attheraces.com Beginners’ Chase. The winner of a maiden hurdle on his reappearance at this track 12 months ago, he also made a winning debut in a bumper in November 2018, so he clearly goes well fresh. He looks to have the ability to make up into a very smart staying novice this winter and hails from an in-form yard, although he is likely to be priced up accordingly here.
Friday’s selection:
12:30 Fontwell – Lord Baddesley; 2/1 betvictor
