Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Wednesday; Run For Oscar in the Listowel 14:10. Compare odds and bet.
The highlight of Wednesday is, of course, the Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow 2020-2021 Handicap Chase from Perth (said with tongue firmly in cheek), where the mares’ novices’ hurdle looks an interesting event. Olly Murphy introduces Alpha Carinae here, on the back of a wind-op, and she looks capable of adding to her Point-to-Point and bumper success over hurdles. However, this looks a stiff enough ask on debut, given than she will have to concede both experience and race-fitness to Proper Ticket who won well last time. There looks a bit of depth to this event, too.
Over in Ireland, the highlight at Listowel is the second start over hurdles of the unbeaten Malone Road. However, the selection comes in the opening maiden hurdle, where You Raised Me Up sets a good standard. Already rated 130, he finished third in the Ladbrokes Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival, and a reproduction of that form would be good enough to win most maiden hurdles during September. However, marginal preference goes the way of Run For Oscar (2:10) who won a maiden on the Flat when last seen. A bumper winner in March, he looks an interesting recruit and can make a winning debut.
Wednesday’s selection:
2:10 Listowel – Run For Oscar; 5/2 Bet365
