Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; One Small Step in the Salisbury 14:50. Compare odds and bet.
A winner at Yarmouth last month One Small Step (2:50) should appreciate stepping back up to a mile at Salisbury on Sunday, and she can make a winning handicap debut.
Brian Meehan’s filly shaped with an abundance of promise on debut at Newmarket the time before when runner-up, and that form reads really well now, thanks to the third who has since won handicaps off 79 and 87 for William Haggas and The Queen. She probably didn’t need to better than to win over 7f on her second start, and although that form would be nowhere near as strong, the third won a handicap off 74 last week.
Tactically versatile (held-up after being squeezed out leaving the stalls on debut, she was then ridden prominently when winning last time), there doesn’t seem much pace on here, so it is hoped that she is again ridden forward. With ground conditions in her favour, she is taken to win this from an opening mark of 84.
Sunday’s selection:
2:50 Salisbury – One Small Step; 11/4 PaddyPower
