Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Monday; A Wave Of The Sea in the Galway 6.45. Compare odds and bet.
The Galway Festival gets underway on Monday, where the 20-runner Connacht Hotel Handicap looks ultra-competitive.
Sharjah and Run For Mary are again both of interest (both put up here recently), but A WAVE OF THE SEA (6:45) looks potentially well-treated on his return to the level. A Grade 1 winning juvenile hurdler last season, he finished fourth in a handicap at this fixture last year, and this is his first start on the Flat beyond 1m4f.
Given the improvement shown over hurdles last winter and the fact that the longer trip should suit, a mark of 82 looks potentially lenient. Versatile in terms of ground, he warmed up for this meeting in the Grimes Hurdle recently, and he opened up a fair each-way price on Sunday (12–1 with Paddy Power who are paying 6 places).
Monday’s selection:
6:45 Galway – A Wave Of The Sea; 16/1 bet365
