Although he didn’t show an awful lot in three starts last term, I’m prepared to take a chance on Petit Palais (2:40) in the 2m handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on Thursday.
His best effort came on reappearance last year – in a race which was sponsored by Jumeprs To Follow – and he should certainly appreciate the better ground here. Twice a winner on decent ground as a juvenile, the five-year-old has dropped to a mark of 115, which would give him a chance on the pick of his form. He should be backed each-way.
