Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Sinjaari in the York 2.30 and Laugh A Minute in the Curragh 6.15. Compare odds and bet.
Although we haven’t seen him yet this year, I’m prepared to give a chance to Sinjaari (2:30) in the John Smith’s Cup at York on Saturday.
Regular readers will know that he was a horse who I followed closely (and quite costly) throughout his three-year-old campaign, and he reappears on a mark 1lb lower than when third in a competitive contest at Glorious Goodwood. Arguably his best three efforts (Goodwood aside) came at the start of last season, and he looks sure to be well-suited by the big field. Versatile in terms of ground, he is worthy of each-way support at a decent price, in a typically open renewal.
Over in Ireland, it’s Irish Oaks day at the Curragh, where Laugh A Minute (6:15) is another to note in a big field handicap, the 6f Paddy Power Scurry Handicap.
Formerly trained by Roger Varian, he was an impressive winner on his second start for Ado McGuinness at Limerick, and this looked the ideal next target. He will hopefully be available at a price at which he can be backed each-way on Saturday morning, having been quite short throughout the week (in the ante-post market).
Saturday’s selections:
2:30 York – Sinjaari; 14/1 Betvictor
6:15 Curragh – Laugh A Minute; 7/1 William Hill
