Paul Ferguson two selections for us on Thursday; Lord Campari in the 1.50 at Newmarket and Highest Ground in the York 3.15. Compare odds and bet.
Impressive on his return to action at Haydock recently, Highest Ground (3:15) can win the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York on Thursday. Usually the key Derby trial, this year’s renewal takes place five days after the Epsom Classic, but offers Sir Michael Stoute’s unbeaten Frankel colt the ideal opportunity to win his first Group race. Although he has only won a brace of novice races to date, he has the potential to go a long way this season, and York’s long home straight should be right up his street.
Down at Newmarket, the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes looks a good renewal, with Tilsit having impressed at Newcastle recently, and Magical Morning has won twice already this season. However, Lord Campari (1:50) created a lasting impression when making all to win at Newbury on his reappearance, and the second and third have both won since. Given his physique, it is likely that he has thrived over the winter, and he could take another big step forward here. Being by Kingman, quicker ground shouldn’t be an issue.
Thursday’s selections:

3:15 York – Highest Ground; 5/6 Unibet
