Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Imperial Aura in the Cheltenham 13:15 and Allaho 12:25 at Fairyhouse. Compare odds and bet.
It’s trials day at Cheltenham, where the likes of Paisley Park and Santini will be laying down their markers for the festival, but the one I most like on the card from a betting perspective is IMPERIAL AURA (1:15) who is fancied to land the Timeform Novices’ Handicap Chase.
He ran really well in defeat here last time and the drop in distance is sure to suit, whilst he remains on a favourable mark. Champagne Court is the other one I like in the race and he arrives here in search of the hat-trick, but he is a stone worse off with the selection from their meeting in the Silver Trophy over hurdles at Chepstow.
Over in Ireland, the Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle is a race to pay close attention to, but earlier on the card ALLAHO (12:25) is fancied to land the opening beginners chase, for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.
Runner-up on debut, he raced keenly that day and plenty of Mullins’ seasonal debutants have been improving for their first run of the season. If that is the case, he can take this en route to Graded company. Keep an eye on Walk Away and Early Doors in the same race, as the former was slightly disappointing behind the selection last time but remains promising, whilst the latter won the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham last March.
Saturday’s selection:
12:25 Fairyhouse – Allaho; 4/7 bet365
1:15 Cheltenham – Imperial Aura; 5/2 bet365
