Paul Ferguson has three selections for us on Saturday; Coconut Splash in the Wetherby 12:30, Sammy Bill 13:30 and Notre Pari 14:40 both at Kempton. Compare odds and bet.
A winner at Aintree on his handicap debut, Notre Pari (2:40) is fancied to provide in-form trainer Olly Murphy with a win in the valuable Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday.
The six-year-old had earlier attempted to give 7lbs to the smart mare Timetochill (won again since) over the minimum trip at Market Rasen, and he ought to appreciate both today’s longer trip and the likely strong pace.
Earlier on the card Sammy Bill (1:30) can make it three-from-three over fences, for Oliver Sherwood and Trevor Hemmings. The seven-year-old was impressive over course-and-distance on debut, before following up in equally taking fashion at Aintree. He has a further 11lbs rise to contend with here, but he looks really progressive and can continue the rise.
Up at Wetherby Coconut Splash (12:30) is likely to be a warm order in the opening maiden hurdle, but his form is strong and he can strike for Evan Williams and Adam Wedge. Beaten a nose by Imperial Alcazar at Aintree on debut (third has won twice since), he was still going well when falling in a stronger race at Newbury, and sets a very good standard.
Saturday’s selections:
12:30 Wetherby – Coconut Splash; 1/2 Paddy Power
1:30 Kempton – Sammy Bill; 7/4 BetVictor
2:40 Kempton – Notre Pari; 11/4 Bet365
