Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Saturday; Fin And Game in the Haydock 11:50. Compare odds and bet.
Runner-up in this race 12 months ago FIN AND GAME (11:50) is taken to go one better in the opener at Haydock this afternoon, following an encouraging return to action in a stronger race here last time.
Third behind Bold Plan on reappearance, Donald McCain’s seven-year-old will appreciate this softer ground and conditions are similar to when he chased home Fighting Fifth winner Cornerstone Lad, in this race last year. The winner is now 25lbs higher, whilst the selection remains on the same mark, and McCain has saddled three winners since last Friday.
Over in Ireland, I will be interested to see how Willie Mullins’ General Counsel runs in the concluding bumper, as he shaped really well on debut in April and that form reads well. On breeding, the ground would be concern, however, so Fin And Game is the sole selection, on the final racing day before Christmas.
Saturday’s selection:
11:50 Haydock – Fin And Game; 11/8 William Hill
