Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Friday; Ribble Valley in 14:30 and Soaring Glory 15:40 both at Asoct. Compare odds and bet.
Ascot stages a cracking card on Friday, where RIBBLE VALLEY (14.30) is fancied to maintain his unbeaten record over hurdles, in the Grade 2 Kennel Gate Novices’ Hurdle.
Nicky Richards’ six-year-old was very impressive in bad ground at Wetherby last time and although he has ground to make up with Master Debonair on their meeting in a Cheltenham bumper last November, he looks to have improved since. McFabulous also ran in that bumper and went on to win the Grade 2 at Aintree, but will need to sharpen up his hurdling, following his Chepstow defeat at short-odds on debut. The other runner Time Flies By won’t mind the ground, but this is a stiff ask on debut.
Later on the card, I’m really looking forward to seeing SOARING GLORY (15:40) in the concluding Listed bumper.
Jonjo O’Neill’s four-year-old looked good on debut at Warwick and backed it up in some style, over course-and-distance, last month. He proved his ability to handle soft ground that day and there is no real reason why the placed horses should turn the form around.
