Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Monday; Midnight Shadow in the Carlisle 14:30. Compare odds and bet.
Although he will improve when going up in distance later in the season (could have actually run in the novice chase earlier on the card), a chance is taken on the inexperienced Midnight Shadow (2:30) in the valuable Weatherbys Hamilton Graduation Chase at Carlisle on Monday.
Sue Smith’s high-class hurdler finished a sound third behind Brewin’upastorm and Good Boy Bobby over course-and-distance on debut (jumped well and only faded from the final fence) last month and if he steps forward fitness wise, he could well take this, given how he is favoured at the weights.
Hell’s Kitchen is the clear form pick on his Champion Chase fourth, but he isn’t the most consistent and tends to improve for his seasonal reappearance. The form of the Sue Smith stable is still a concern, but there have been small signs of improvement of late and he is worth chancing, in receipt of weight from all five rivals and with that run under his belt.
Monday’s selection:
2:30 Carlisle – Midnight Shadow; 3/1 BetVictor
