A Listed bumper winner in March, House Island (5:35) is very much of interest on his hurdling debut at Kempton on Sunday.
Runner-up to Alrightjack (4th in last week’s Silver Trophy off 127) for Anthony Honeyball, he chased home Enrilo (winner on Thursday) in a bumper here on debut for Paul Webber, before springing a 40-1 surprise at Newbury. He went on to take his chance in the Grade 1 at Punchestown and although he only beat one horse home, he wasn’t beaten all that far and both the second and third have already won over hurdles.
With his form stacking up nicely and Webber having had a couple of horses run well in defeat of late, he is taken to make a winning debut under Gavin Sheehan.
