Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Sidi Ismael in the Kelso 15:50. Compare odds and bet.
All eyes will be on Longchamp on Sunday, as Enable goes in search of a record-breaking third successive win in the Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. She arrived in France on the back of a 12-race winning run that stretches back to May 2017 and it will be a fantastic story if she can land this before heading off to stud. Her main danger appears to be the rapidly-improving Japan, who has gone from strength-to-strength since finishing third in the Derby, and should relish going back up in trip. Deteriorating ground might also help this strong stayer, who shouldn’t be far away under Ryan Moore.
Domestically, the novices’ chase at Uttoxeter looks a good contest, but the selection comes from Kelso, where Sidi Ismael (3:50) can land the Jumps Track Groundstaff Champions Novices’ Hurdle.
Keith Dalgleish’s five-year-old won a bumper at the third time of asking last term, but is a big son of Great Pretender, who could come into his own now he goes jumping. He faces a couple of recent winners, but looks a nice long-term prospect and might be up to making a winning debut.
Dalgleish and Brian Hughes also team up earlier on the card with Highway Companion who runs in division two of the 2m novices’ hurdle. He shaped with promise in bumpers last season, notably at Haydock on debut.
Sunday’s selection:
3:50 Kelso – Sidi Ismael; 5/1 Bet365
