The Galway Festival gets underway this evening and the well-bred RISK FACTOR (8:40) is fancied to win the concluding bumper for Joseph O’Brien.
Runner-up on debut at Ballinrobe, the Duke of Marmalade four-year-old (out of the classy mare, Refinement) stayed on strongly and would probably appreciate a more expansive track. That said, he showed more than enough on debut that he can win a bumper and his two half-brothers – West Coast Time and Meticulous – were successful in this sphere.
From a family full of bumper winners (his Grade 1 winning dam herself winning four bumpers) he can maintain the tradition.
