Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Theclockisticking 16:05 and The Swagman 17:45 both at Uttoxeter. Compare odds and bet.
Uttoxeter stages the valuable Summer Cup on Sunday and Theclockisticking (4:05) is taken land the Listed handicap chase.
Stuart Edmunds’ seven-year-old remains lightly-raced over fences and judged on his handicap hurdle from, is potentially well-treated. 3lbs lower than when sixth in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham, he reverted to fences (just his third chase start) at this track last time, when he did remarkably well to finish as close as he did, given the serious error he made at the 11th. He clearly needs to jump more fluently and he also needs to prove himself over this slightly longer trip, but he is a classy young performer on his day, and remains at the right end of the handicap.
Later on the card The Swagman (5:45) is taken to win the concluding maiden hurdle, for Seamus Durack and Richard Johnson.
The five-year-old had some decent form in bumpers before winning under Aidan Coleman at Newton Abbot and he looks a decent recruit for the time of year. Clearly at home on decent ground, the Coolmore cast-off should appreciate the longer trip and can make the best possible start to life over jumps.
Sunday’s selections:
4:05 Uttoxeter – Theclockisticking; 7/2 Paddy Power
5:45 Uttoxeter – The Swagman; 10/3 Ladbrokes
