Paul Ferguson has three selections at Punchestown for us on Friday; Buveur D’Air 17:30, City Island 18:05 and Breaken at 19:10. Compare odds and bet.
It’s the penultimate day of a long week at Punchestown, where BUVEUR D’AIR (5:30) can regain the winning thread.
A faller in the Champion Hurdle, he then appeared to get outstayed in soft ground at Aintree. Back at 2m, he can strike under Mark Walsh, who rides him for the very first time.
CITY ISLAND (6:05) was impressive in the Ballymore and with Champ subsequently franking that form, he can follow up in the Champion Novice Hurdle.
Battleoverdoyen is respected on earlier form, whilst the returning Tornado Flyer is also of interest, but ready preference is for Martin Brassil’s improving six-year-old.
Later on the card BREAKEN (7:10) can supplement his impressive Limerick success in the 2m novice hurdle.
Willie Mullins’ five-year-old fairly bolted up on his Irish debut and sports the first time hood this afternoon. If that helps him settle, he could easily step forward and lower the colours of form horse, Gardens Of Babylon.
