Recent Wincanton winner River Bray ought to ensure he doesn’t get things all his own way, but GOOD BOY BOBBY (3:20) is taken to win for a second time over hurdles at Southwell on Monday.
A three-time winner in bumpers, he won a novice hurdle at Carlisle (form worked out well since) in October, before struggling in heavy ground at Ffos Las under his penalty.
Sidelined since, that would suggest that all wasn’t right afterwards and, if fully wound up (good record fresh), he can bounce back here after a 113-day absence. If he goes and does the job nicely here, he could be one for Aintree next month.
