The in-form Paul Nicholls sends three horses on the long journey north to Kelso on Saturday and Getaway Trump (3:15) is fancied to land the Grade 2 Edinburgh Gin Premier Kelso Novices’ Hurdle.
Twice a winner earlier in the campaign, he travelled like a dream when runner-up to Ballymore favourite Champ in the Grade 1 Challow at Newbury and finished fourth in the rescheduled Betfair Hurdle a fortnight ago. He could have done with being ridden closer to the pace on that occasion and today’s 2m2f trip could be ideal. Versatile in terms of ground, he is very much the one beat here judged on those past two runs.
