Seventh on debut, Early Morning Rain (5:10) took a big step forward on her second run and she sets a fair standard in the mares’ bumper at Plumpton on Monday.
A grey daughter of Martaline, she made a bold bid from the front at Taunton last month and her form looks strong enough to land most average mares’ only bumpers. Jamie Snowden has his string in good order – saddled a couple of winners in the past week from 10 runners – and the five-year-old can strike under Sam Twiston-Davies.
