Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Delta Work in the Leopardstown 13:55 and Brewin’upastorm 15:00 at Newbury. Compare odds and bet.
Although he is the least experienced hurdler in the field, I’m siding with Brewin’upastorm (3:00) in Saturday’s Grade 1 Challow Novices’ Hurdle at Newbury.
Olly Murphy’s Hereford bumper winner won with plenty in hand on debut at Huntingdon recently and should appreciate this longer trip. He needs to take a big step forward here, but I believe he is a horse with the potential to go a long way and he can show that in Berkshire this afternoon.
Over in Ireland, Delta Work (1:55) can land a second Grade 1 over fences, in the Neville Hotels Novice Chase at Leopardstown.
Gordon Elliott’s Cheltenham Festival winner has taken really well to the larger obstacles and his latest form looks even better now, following the victory of Le Richebourg earlier in the week. Going up to 3m over fences ought to bring about further improvement and he should be difficult to beat under Davy Russell.
Saturday’s selections:
1:55 Leopardstown – Delta Work; 4/9 Betfred
3:00 Newbury – Brewin’upastorm; 11/2 Bet365
