Third on debut at Cheltenham, MR WHIPPED (1:20) and he can get off the mark over fences at Haydock this afternoon.
Only beaten 3/4 of a length, had he landed with any momentum after the last he probably would have won. Nicky Henderson’s horses seem in better order now, too, and although I have healthy respect for Sandown winner Springtown Lake, Mr Whipped should make the most of the 5lbs he receives.
RED RIVER (2:15) – who actually beat Mr Whipped when last seen in February – is another exciting novice chase prospect and can score on debut at Ludlow.
He had earlier beaten one of today’s rivals Coup de Pinceau by 13 lengths at Wincanton and this is another Irish Point-to-Point recruit who can make the most of weight he receives from previous winners.
