WENYERREADYFREDDIE (3.35) is strongly fancied to complete his hat-trick in the Betway Novices’ Handicap Chase at Newbury. Nicky Henderson’s gelding looks leniently treated by a 3lb rise for beating Kildisart and Azzerti at Ascot, with both placed horses scoring next time out.
CHAMP (3.00) was raised 11lb after hacking up over course and distance and it is no surprise to see him elevated to Grade 1 company in the Betway Challow Novices’ Hurdle. He won’t have things entirely his own way with the likes of Cheltenham scorer Coolanly and very promising Brewin’upastorm in opposition.
COEUR BLIMEY (1.50) had his race won before the home bend when landing a gamble at Hereford and may reward an each-way interest in an open 2m 4f handicap hurdle. My selection had Subcontinent seven lengths adrift and is weighted to confirm places. A bigger threat should be bottom weight Unblinking.
STATION MASTER (1.30) ran so well behind The Young Master at Cheltenham that he gets the nod in the Mansionbet Handicap Chase at Doncaster. Kim Bailey’s gelding, a dual winner over hurdles last season, will appreciate this decent ground.
LADY BUTTONS (2.05) is hard to oppose in the Listed mares’ chase at Doncaster. Her jumping was fast and accurate when scoring with ease at Newbury and Lady Buttons has also scored over this longer trip.
