Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Wednesday; Juge et Parti in the Chepstow 12:40 and Chanceanotherfive 2:55 at Hexham. Compare odds and bet.
A couple of maiden hurdlers are of interest on Wednesday, both in handicap company and I’m hoping both will open up as each-way prices.
First up Juge et Parti (12:40) runs in the opener at Chepstow, on what is his second start for the Nigel Twiston-Davies stable. The grey was an impressive bumper winner for Christian Williams and he went on to finish runner-up in three hurdle races for the trainer. Switched stables, he hadn’t been with his new stable for long when finishing sixth off this mark at Hereford and I’m still of the opinion that he can win races over timber.
Up at Hexham Chanceanotherfive (2:55) is worth another chance now that he goes up in distance, in a 0-100 2m4f handicap.
He won two bumpers before bumping into Seddon (an easy winner recently and a short priced favourite at Cheltenham on Sunday) at Musselburgh, then he went on to take his chance in a competitive renewal of Aintree’s Grade 2. With that in mind, I’m slightly surprised – and maybe a shade disappointed – that he hasn’t fared better in his four starts to date, but I have been waiting for him to go back up in trip and Brian Hughes is back on board here. He shaped with promise with Hughes on board on his first couple of starts.
Wednesday’s selections:
12:40 Chepstow – Juge et Parti; 11/2 Ladbrokes
2:55 Hexham – Chanceanotherfive; 11/2 Ladbrokes
