Third in a competitive novices’ handicap chase at Huntingdon on his debut over fences Cloth Cap (15:50) is of interest in the concluding contest at Stratford this afternoon.
Jonjo O’Neill’s six-year-old crept nicely into contention last time and certainly looks to have a future over fences. A winner over hurdles at Huntingdon on Boxing Day last year, this trip could prove to be just about ideal and he was surprisingly dropped 3lbs for that promising start to his chasing career. The selection faces a couple of in-form rivals here, so will hopefully be available at a nice each-way price.
