Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Saturday; Lah Ti Dar in the Doncaster 15:35 and Sancta Simona 17:50 at Listowel. Compare odds and bet.
Unbeaten in three starts to date Lah Ti Dar (3:35) can land the final Classic of the season – the William Hill sponsored St Leger – at Doncaster, this afternoon.
John Gosden’s Dubawi filly missed a big chunk of the season, but proved her well-being when returning to action in emphatic fashion at York last month. More is required here as she takes on the boys for the first time, but she could easily take a step forward fitness wise and I expect the longer trip – and long home straight – to play to her strengths.
Over in Ireland most of the focus will be on Leopardstown, but there are some nice young jumpers on show at Listowel and I’m looking forward to seeing Sancta Simona (5:50) in the concluding bumper.
Reportedly, unable to cope with the heavy ground on debut, Wille Mullins’ mare bolted up by 11 lengths on her second start at Kilbeggan and she has since been purchased by JP McManus. She looks an exciting prospect, but might well need to be, as she faces a Punchestown Festival winner – in the shape of Kalum River – among her six opponents.
Saturday’s selections:
3:35 Doncaster – Lah Ti Dar; 7/4 Ladbrokes
5:50 Listowel – Sancta Simona; 2/5 Bet365
