Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Winter Lion in the York 16:00. Compare odds and bet.
Though he wouldn’t be the most consistent, a chance can be taken on Winter Lion (4:00) at York on Sunday, as he reverts to the Flat for the first time since joining Fergal O’Brien.
A useful dual-purpose performer in Ireland, the eight-year-old has done well over fences since joining his new connections and finished fourth – having appeared to be struggling early on – in the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter. Disappointing on his last run on the level last December, he had earlier won a brace of Dundalk handicaps off 76 and 79, respectively. The handicapper has clearly given him a chance here (off 76) and Jamie Spencer might just suit him, in that he will be able to nurse him during the early part of the contest.
Sunday’s selection:
4:00 York – Winter Lion; 10/1 Bet365
