Following a couple of impressive victories at Sandown and Ascot, Elwazir (15:05) takes the step up to Group company at Haydock this afternoon, and Owen Burrows’ three-year-old is fancied to land the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes.
A novice winner at Sandown – form that now reads really well with the runner-up having won last weekend’s Gordon Stakes – he beat a potentially well handicapped rival at Ascot and looks ready for this rise in class. Provided the rain stays away, conditions look ideal.
