KYLLACHY GALA (4.20) can make a bold bid to land the fiercely competitive Matchbook Rosebery Handicap at Kempton.
Marco Botti’s gelding is up 2lb for his defeat of Pactolus and Star Archer here earlier in the month, with Fire Fighting (winner since) back in fifth. Kyllachy Gala is well treated with Emenen on their Lingfield run in December and looks sure to perform with credit.
Arab Moon goes particularly well round Kempton, recording form figures of 1-1-1-2 from four visits.
FABRICATE (2.35) can carry the Queen’s colours to victory in the Magnolia Stakes.
He had today’s principal rival Autocratic back in sixth when landing the Group 3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor in August. Fabricate also landed a valuable handicap at Glorious Goodwood.
Autocratic has the benefit of a run on the all-weather and won early last season, landing the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown in May.
INN THE BULL (3.45) has won his last two races at Wolverhampton and a 6lb rise for his latest success may not scupper his hat-trick bid in the 1m 4f handicap. Alan King’s gelding quickened up nicely to overhaul favourite Reckless Wave.
Stanley beat Warm Oasis half a length when they clashed in a course and distance maiden last season and is 6lb better off. Warm Oasis has been running on the all-weather and may have a fitness advantage over Stanley (off the track for 164 days).
There is some hot action at Musselburgh with TIME TO STUDY (3.35) taken to build on some smart form last year and scoop the valuable Totepool Queen’s Cup.
Mark Johnston’s Edinburgh Cup winner here last June, only weakened inside the final furlong when fifth to Stradivarius in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot and showed great battling qualities to touch off Byron Flyer at Doncaster.
Last year’s winner Carbon Dating (Sir Chauvelin sixth) returns off a 1lb lower mark and Rowan Scott takes off 3lb. He wintered in Dubai and ran a cracker at Meydan when running sixth to Rare Rhythm and Vazaribad in a Group 3.
American Gigolo beat Stargazer and Dubawi Fifty at Newcastle and 3lb rise is fair. He was a 130-rated hurdler and Harry Fry is a rare visitor to these parts.
The softer the better for front-runner Brandon Castle and his inclusion will ensure a brisk gallop.
The Johnston yard is well represented on the card and MASHAM STAR (1.50) can reward an each-way investment under top weight in the opening 7f handicap.
He wintered in Dubai in 2017 but stayed at home this time round, running third to Second Thought and Summer Icon in a Listed contest at Wolverhampton three weeks ago. He is 8lb lower on turf and handled soft ground when chasing home Hibou at Hamilton last July.
Twin Appeal landed this prize with some aplomb last year on quicker ground and is 4lb lower. Factor in Ben Robinson’s 5lb claim and he appears well treated.
