Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Don’t Ask in the Chepstow 13:10. Compare odds and bet.
A winner at Bangor-On-Dee on his hurdling debut Don’t Ask (1:10) finished a creditable third under his penalty at Taunton, but can return to winning ways at Chepstow today.
Warren Greatrex’s horses continue to run well (the trainer is operating at a 29% strike rate in the past fortnight, saddling 5 winners from 17 runners) and his five-year-old looks a useful type.
The form of that Bangor success was advertised by the runner-up Whiskey In The Jar, who bolted up by 32 lengths at Uttoxeter last Saturday, whilst the Taunton winner Dan McGrue has since won impressively under Bryony Frost. His form is solid, he won’t mind the ground and the drop in trip on this stiffer track won’t be an inconvenience either. A bold run looks very much on the cards, with his stable in fine form.
Course-and-distance winner Marley Firth is respected, but needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort at Plumpton a month ago, whilst Luckofthedraw is a heavy-ground bumper winner so ought to handle the testing conditions.
